Verified ReviewerBookVIP - Horrible!!!
Mr.Colligan,This question and answer came directly from bookvip website Question and Answer:What is your refund policy?by AdminJune 29, 2017Answer2 answersBy Admin on Behalf of the CompanyJun 29, 2017Our Premium Trip Guard Insurance is offered for every purchase. This insurance will allow you to cancel and receive a full refund with no questions asked.
However, most decline our insurance because of our flexible rescheduling policies.I booked my reservation May 12, 2020 and called May 13, 2020 to cancel it— exactly how many days do you have before you can cancel the reservation? According to this quote; answered by bookvip I still should get a full refund because I purchase the Premium Trip Guard Insurance; Not 12 months to rebook new dates!! This company is a complete ripoff and they take advantage of hard working people that’s trying to do something nice for their love ones. I refuse to let bookvip take my money without a fight!!
I have disputed the $310.00 dollar charge on my credit card and I have also filed a complaint with BBB. I will continue to post on social media what a ripoff bookvip is and I’m also prepared to get a lawyer. After I advised the agent I had 5 people in my party he told me I could call back to upgrade to a room that sleeps 6 people and if it wasn’t available I could CANCEL FOR FREE!!! Not cancel and rebook new travel dates!!
Nor did he say it was NONREFUNDABLE!!!
I will not be accountable for the false information the agent told me. What’s unfortunately is me having to fight for my $310.00 dollars for the agent LACK OF KNOWLEDGE!!!!Pearlie Kitchen
I wish I had of did my research on bookvip.com. I booked my reservation May 12, 2020 by phone with an agent that could barely speak English and the phone connection was horrible.
I booked my reservation for the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resorts Gatlinburg Tennessee for June 26 - 29. The special only offered a cabin that sleeps 4 people but I have 5 people in my party. The agent told me that I could call the first week in June to upgrade to a cabin that sleeps 6 people and if not available I could cancel the reservation for FREE. So I’m thinking I had nothing to lose because “I could cancel for FREE.” May 13, 2020 I decided to go directly onto the Westgate Resorts website and saw that they had a cabin that sleeps 6 people available.
So I decided to call bookvip.com to cancel the reservation. When I called I was informed that my reservation was non refundable. I’m telling the lady what the agent told me about being able to cancel for FREE. To cancel for FREE mean you can cancel your travel dates but you want be refunded your money.
I was giving misleading information to get me to book this vacation package so I call my bank to dispute the charges and I also sent the owner of bookvip.com and email about the situation. I google bookvipreviews.com and there’s a Question and Answer section from bookvip.com site and the owner James Colligan clearly states that if you have the Trip Guard Insurance you can cancel your reservation with no questions asked and get a full refund. When the cancellation department called me May 15, 2020 to advise me that she was just going to cancel my travel dates and leave the reservation open ended and I have 12 months to rebook. I asked about the Trip Guard Insurance and advised her that I had the insurance and also of what I read from there website she replies with “That insurance doesn’t apply to my reservation because I booked my reservation with travel dates.” I knew at that point this company was a rip-off.
I informed her that I have disputed the $310.00 dollar charge on my credit card and I will be filing a complaint with BBB. Anyone looking to book a vacation please do not use this company. They lie, they give you incorrect information and/or misleading information. They are scammers!!!
Due to COVID-19 my son didn’t get to have a graduation ceremony so I thought this would be a great mini vacation before he go off to college. Thanks to bookvip deceiving ways he want get to have a mini vacation either.

This company is a fraud in my honest opinion. The representatives are very misleading in regards to the terms and conditions and out right lie about their policies.
I am awaiting a refund from them yet to be received because I do not qualify for this package yet they wanted to give me a voucher which makes no sense if I don't qualify.
The cancellation representative was beyond rude and unhelpful. I strongly advise against booking with this company and they should consider new reps with more knowledge and training on how to treat customers who are trying to spend their hard earned money especially

Verified ReviewerBookVIP - Deceptive Advertisement and Website
Dear Mr Torres,Appreciate the explanation of what lies beneath the appealing advertisement, but I was already briefed this on the phone. Unfortunately you do not address the root problem— deception.
I spent a good deal of time weeding through the choices of a vacation to Orlando unnecessarily since I had no intention— and by the way, would not even “qualify” — to purchase a hotel stay that included a sales pitch for some sort of timeshare arrangement.
I was informed being upfront was not an option. Making it blatantly obvious to potential vacationers that a significant discount was in exchange for a timeshare pitch is not something your company is interested in— I get it; but it is what it is: deceptive.(I also note you’ve “outed” me— nice touch :( )
As I stated to the very nice and patient customer service representative, your company deals is selling timeshares but it is not readily apparent to the customer. Facebook knew I was searching for a vacation, so I was given your advertisement that does not state you are a timeshare seller.
Although I wasn't interested in that particular advertised vacation, I did do a search for a vacation location I was contemplating on your website.
Your website looks similar in structure to any other hotel/vacation selling website. One is hard-pressed to get that distinction from the onset and I feel it is very deceptive and quite frankly: dishonest.

Booked a stay in a Hyatt in Savannah, paid for it, then they changed the hotel to a small boutique hotel stating they were no longer affiliated with Hyatt. Then due to the corona virus they cancelled my stay but refuse to refund me. Now they say I must stay with them again or lose my money and all of a sudden are promoting the Hyatt again. I do not trust this company and certainly would not recommend them.

The VIP representative cancelled us because of my husbands age.
I was so disappointed when I called in to pick my dates for my future travel to Omni Cancun Resort. I had booked this 6 weeks ago and paid the stay in full.
I was fully aware that we both had to go (married) and attend a 120 minute promotion to possibly buy into what they were offering for travelers. I answered all questions correctly except when they asked me our age and I informed them I was 60 and my husband was 71 they told me we didnt qualify and had to cancel our reservation.
Isnt this age discrimination? So disappointed.

Made reservation over the phone. We thought we were getting an Ocean Front room.
We paid $349 plus an additional $80 in tax a fees. When we read the fine print that said receptionist Ocean Front and not Ocean View, which apparently means something different. I can get the same room for $92 a night and not have to pay an extra $30 in online 3rd party booking fees.
When we call them three times they told us too bad they couldnt upgrade our room or get a refund. I paid about $100 more than I should have in addition to having to attend a time share briefing.

Verified ReviewerMisleading sales practices
I purchased a package that said "No Timeshare Presentation Required!". I upgraded when prompted in the sales process and was not informed before my credit card was charged that my whole party would actually have to attend a sales presentation.
When I called to make the reservation the slars agent informed me that I would have to qualify for and attend a sales presentation and pay an additional $29 a night.
This was disappointing since that is not what I purchased and my credit card had already been charged but I did qualify on my own and she said that my guest did not need to qualify.
When the resort called to confirm the reservation they gave me different information and said that everyone in the party regardless of qualification had to attend the presentation; for a package that was advertised as "no timeshare presentation required".
Please honor what you advertised and sold! I am willing to meet you halfway and have 1 qualfied adult attend the full presentation.

- Great prices and destinations

Given wrong info via email & over the phone! My reservations are approaching & I have 2 people that have purchased flights and just learned one can not come only 2 adults and 2 children are allowed but I have 3 adults.
I was told via phone that 4 adults could come now Im being told that 3 cant. There is no attempt to resolve the issue not even an apology.
I was given the number to the resort and told to call them but the number provided was disconnected. Ive never experienced anything like this.

DO NOT purchase from here....Nashville is a NO
I booked yesterday and guaranteed one of 3 hotels over the next year. I was available every month for 12 months.
Within minutes both myself as well as a representative tried EVERY 3 night sequence of every month and ZERO of the 3 hotels were available. She told me she would request a refund and apologized. Today a different rep called me and went through the same DAMN sequence. I am at work and have ZERO time for this.
Just refund my money and I will walk away.
This is CRAZY! I have used this before with a time share and not had a problem booking but this deal is wrong!

Verified ReviewerResolved: Why do you discriminate against single women?
11/14BookVIP.com reached out to me and fully resolved my complaint with great customer service. The rules around who "may" be eligible to receive a discount offer based on age or marital status is NOT defined by BookVIP.com but the hosting resorts. They were great at helping me re-book to a great location that doesn't have similar restrictions on Marital Status.
So I posted, but it didn't appear so guess you are filtering this.
I purchased a package with upgrades, but when I tried to book I was told I was ineligible unless I was bringing a family member or live in partner.
I was bringing a boyfriend.
I was unable to book the vacation I paid for, and only offered credit.

BookVIP ruined the 1 vacation I get a year
Update: Book VIP contacted within hours of this post and has rectified this situation.
Totally ripped off and off course no supervisor has yet to call 2 days after my complaint, so I guess I am stuck 1000’s of miles from home at a *** hotel.
I booked at Grand Oasis Cancun for the upgraded 6 days, 7 nights. The 18 restaurants on the website don’t all even exist. The food at the few locations we had was terrible. We got a bit sick one of the days. There is 1 place for breakfast with dried up stuffed “meat”-lord knows what-that is only put out on certain days. There is an omelet bar.
Even the steakhouse was just plain Jane. Really terrible, cold food. Most places the food sits out and for hours. Pretty gross. I know, I am an American, what right do I have to adhere to basic food standards/temps for healthy food?
We started venturing out to other hotels and buying food. I even went as far as walking to 7-11 down the street and buy peanut butter and bread.
All inclusive domestic and international—-lies. *** heartburn Mexican domestic liquor and ONLY Dox Equis for beer. No joke. These are the only options. Everything else is costing more to the employees pockets, in the 2 bars I have found anything other than crap Mexican domestic.
The young crowd was more like 16-18. Not too many ppl in 20s-30s, except families with kids. And mostly loud, obnoxious native 16-18 year olds at that.
The entertainment-so lacking. Well, yea, they serve crap liquor. Everything is pretty dead. You can usually find one bar hopping a night among many. But that’s about it. There are performances, but nothing worth staying at this hotel over when everything else is so wrong.
The rooms are small. Nice ocean view but yet far. The walls-somewhat can hear through. Front door, for sure. Loud kids across the way and I have heard them for days. The water in the shower area reeks. The elevators are disgusting. They wash them in middle of day, not after everyone is done swimming.
Oh..good luck swimming at night. No lights in the unfiltered pool water. And no beach service or even pool side service. And the campus! Be prepared to be walking A LOT.
Book VIP tried to give me some lame reasoning that because I am in the hotel they prob can’t do anything. Cuz I guess I should be psychic before I fly 1000s of miles that they are about to rip me off. They say the hotel is responsible for telling them correct info for the website. But the 6 (YES SIX) hour presentation I was forced to endure for this crap hole was actually kind to let me know the drill. This has not been a 4 star hotel in over 4 years. I buy this package, the timeshare place also pays a hefty dime for my package. Book VIP makes a deal with the hotel and pays, and pockets a lot of cash. So no matter the thought that the hotel lied to them, my contract with them, though “final” was also contingent on selling me something that doesn’t truly exist. Lies about hotel quality, entertainment, food, and drinks.
Spoke to a supervisor of the hotel. They admitted I only get 16 restaurants, though a handful aren’t really restaurants but “snack foods”. The map given upon arrival shows 11 restaurants. They also haven’t updated their tv channel to reflect all the closed restaurants. They probably aren’t giving VIP all correct info, but that’s not my issue. My issue is that this company sold me a package that was not what I agreed to on purchase. And I am even more mad that no one will call me back.
- Any of it
